Ok, I just got a great deal on stage II lexreme regrinds and want to make sure I have every step visualized before I do my install. These are the specs:
Stock 2UZFE: 250 duration 315 lift
Stage I: 266 duration 345 lift
Stage II: 274 duration 385 lift
I have a set of .060'' lash caps in the mail that I assume rest on top of the valve stem, sandwiched under the buckets right?
Well, I had my heads rebuilt recently and I never messed with setting the clearance. I expect to use my feeler gauge to check mine... but if a lash is out, whats done to bring it back to spec? I rebuilt pushrods that had hydraulic rollers so I never had to do this.
Q-Does the "dimple" on top of shim spin to raise/lower clearance? Or do I need to shave the lash caps provided?
Q-My exhaust cams did not come with scissor gears so I need to swap, any tricks I should know before doing this?
-I am aware to lock the gear once pre-loaded.
Basically anything I should know about doing a regrind swap with oem caps/lashes (lash caps at .060''provided). Thanks!
