triumph stag

i am about halfway thru putting a 1uz into a triumph stag
a little help would be nice
does anyone know of this happening before?

not at all! i would have to say you are the first.

but i would imagine it would be a tight fit - treefiddychebbys are a squeeze!

have you got any pics? what sump are you using? auto or manual? any fitting probs? what steering does the triumph have? why is the sky blue?

trying to source a rear sump
using the autotrans that came with the crown front cut
plenty of fitting probs, but we can fix em
stag has power steering
sky has something to do with refraction of light bouncing off the atmosphere

I'm in the process of fitting a UZ - 1 into a 74 Mk 2 Triumph Stag.
Engine used is from a Soarer ( Rear Sump ) running std auto trans. Is a tight fit.
Had to mod sump and lower crossmember 30 mm. But bonnet closes with no bulge / scoop needed
Engine ceterline is slighty to left to help clear steering.
Used crown exhaust manifilds RHs stock, LHs mod.
Custom alloy radiator & trans cooler & remote oil filter.
Using ECU from a crown to run engine and auto trans.
Loom was customised to suit.
Am waiting for new front springs as UZ 1 engine is heaps lighter than old Triumph mill...

You have a Stag???!!! And are putting a 1UZ into it???

I've driven them with the earlier 3.5 Toyota V8, Rover V8 and 4.4 P76 V8 but this would be "Sex on wheels"!! I'd be very happy to help with this.. Honored in fact.

Think Soarer spec 1UZ, Altezza 6 speed gear box and Skyline rear end (which is loosely based on the Trumpy one anyway) and it must be painted BRG.. Now what a sleeper this would be
