Hello everyone. I thought I would throw up a project log of my manual conversion. Its going to be a little slow, but Jake is going to guide me in every way possible to get the ball rolling.

So here is my list of what I need for this project... ( I will update this list if anything changes )

Transmission - 1995 Supra MK4 W58
Adapter Plate - UZA70 Aluminum W58>1UZ
Flywheel - UZA70 Aluminum
Clutch Kit - UZA70 Sprung 6 puck
Throwout Bearing - Howe Racing 82870
Pedals - Supra MK3
Hydro Lines - SS Lines with speed bleeders
Shifter - Short Throw shifter
Driveshaft - Custom modded SC400 or Manual SC300
Mount - may be able to use stock or slightly modify it.

Just picked up an older model Howe Throw Out Bearing # 82870 on ebay for a decent price. The older model and the newer model will work... both are part numbers 82870.

Should be picking up the adapter plate this week from Jake.

I'm looking at tackling this project within the next couple of weeks. Where can I purchase that adaptor plate? I saw one on ebay about a week ago from some guy who makes them but I cannot seem to find it again. Good luck and please don't give up!

Okay an update - Pics will be later :)

in Bold = has been ordered or in my possession.

Clutch Kit - UZA70 Sprung 4 or 6 puck - Hopefully getting tommorow!
Hydro Lines - SS Lines with speed bleeders - Hopefully getting tommorow!

So this is all good news!

It has been sitting on my balcony since August, lol. I drained the fluid out from the rear of the tranny, but have not added more. What do you recommend I do?

Met up with Jake today and picked up my adapter plate. We also went out to get my Howe bearing serviced with a rounded bearing instead of a flat, although, it really doesn't matter. We got the lines made for my bearing too... and last but not least, ordered the clutch/pressure plate.

Transmission - 1995 Supra MK4 W58
Adapter Plate - UZA70 Aluminum W58>1UZ
Driveshaft - Manual SC300
Throwout Bearing - Howe Racing 82870 with Rounded Bearing option
Pedals - Supra MK3
Shifter - Short Throw shifter
Shift Knob - Vibrant CF #2032
Rubber Shifter Boot - SC300 Manual
Hydro Lines - Steel Braided Lines with a Speed Bleeder
Clutch - UZA70 Sprung 4 puck Dual Friction Clutch
Pressure Plate - UZA70 1800lbs Pressure Plate

Flywheel - UZA70 Aluminum - In Process of being made (waiting on ring gear)
Console Trim - SC300 w/o Heated Seats

so how do you bleed the clutch slave?Do you have to drill a hole in the bell housing with an extra long bleed bolt??

You will have 2 steel braided lines coming out of the bell housing.

One comes from the Master Cyl and then into the bellhousing to the Howe bearing. Then out of the Howe bearing another line out of the bellhousing with a speed bleeder on it. You can put this anywhere you want, I will hide mine under the car. Jakes is hiding in his engine bay.

Here are pics of the shifter after modded. I had to get my buddy to put some delrin on a lathe and turn it down so it can cup the ball of the shifter like OEM... he also had to mod in a top plate. This sure beat buying a new shifter from Toyota for $100+ ! You guys can avoid this problem by having the OEM shifter that comes with the transmission... I did not :(

What style fingers are on that pressure plate?
If they are straight (like most are), the bearing on the howe unit is not suitable as its made for curved fingers.
The bearing should be a cone or slanted shape.

The howe bearing will work, but there is a good chance itll fail prematurely.

he has the rounded faced baring on the howe, aka way ahead of you, although ive been running a flat faced baring on a flat finger for over a year now.
