First off. Let me start off by saying, I love this forum. I was kinda lost when I bought my SC400 and didnt know a thing about the 1UZ. Now thanks to this forum I actually know is going on.......to some degree of course.

Ok. I need a new motor in the very near future. Currently I have a bone stock 95 SC400 w/ 178,xxx miles. Still runs strong. I know I want to go with a supercharger. (Unknown wheather to go Roots or Cent) Im just not sure what to do about the motor. Should I just get another stock motor and change out the head gaskets to lower compression a bit. Or should I opt for the 4.7 from the tundra. I dont really know what will work and what will not. The car will probaly only see the track once or twice. But I would like to see around 330rwhp. I would like to keep it in the Lexus/Toyota family as far as engines. I come from chevy background and a LS1 would look real nice between the strut towers. But..............
I dont want to do a complete swap of that degree.

Please my build is in your hands.........................................to a point.:stups:

I think everyone will agree that you should rebuild your engine with stronger rods/pistons to prep the engine for the supercharger. I would find someone over there with experience to strengthen up your transmission as well. Maybe some people around here can help you with what needs help in those transmissions when you get to that point. I just know that a couple of the turbo guys have used a couple transmissions before they got them modded for the power. They really push them harder than normal so you might be ok just by driving easier than they do. :slomo:

The owner of this forum also just fired up his project that he's very proud of his creation. It should really haul some butt. http://www.lextreme.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11567

He can also hook you up with the parts that he has had engineered to work properly. He's done a couple of them so check around the forum and read on!! You should be able to pull that kind of reliable power out of your engine after you put some forged rods in and do a proper SC install. I don't think it would be that hard at all. All your components should be strong if the car has always been in good hands.

Pass on the 2UZ or iron V8 conversion. It's way too much work and you will be adding a very large amount of weight to the car. On the track that weight will kill your performance. As you know, weight is EVERYTHING through those turns.
