Lexus V8 in a Hilux

Hey guys,
i'm new to this forums an i was wondering if any of you guys have tryed 2 drop a lexus v8 in a Hilux... not a 4x4 just a 2wd lowrider style ute. Its my 2nd car and i'd love to own a hilux with a shite load of v8 grunt! If any1 knows of any1 who has made this swap before plz drop us a line. Ma old mans a mechanic so i can get the work done i just need to know what parts i need. I already figured i should buy a half cut so i get all the loom,computer an radiotor. Any advice would be much apreciated!

Start with crown front cut, add in a castlemain rod shop sump and engine mount adaptors proberbly the easiest way to go.

Go with the early crown 1/2 cut they fit better.
If you need wiring a loom goto www.venomcobras.com.
also it just my opinion but i prefer the dellow adaptors as you can have left or right fork locations and they supply all the bits .

thanx for ya help guys, will deffinatly look into it! Whats i slike to drive with the v8 in it? my mate struggles wit the 2.7 in the wet...i'd amagine the V8 would b a bit of a handfull?

lots of funnn.

They are a handfull in the wet especially with a manual and chunky off road tyres. if your lsd is working its a hell of a lot of fun.
You got to remember it is a heavy car and top heavy as well it can be hard to stop in a hurry .

Mine uses factory ecu and auto, still lite's the tyres up whenever you want but is easy to drive normaly and gets much better fuel economy than my 2.4 carb manual.

I have a Holden V8 powered 2ws Hilux, goes like a rocket! Do a search and have a look at Sideshow's 1UZ 2wd Hilux. Lots of info with pics of the whole swap. Have fun!!

if your mate strugles in the wet with a 2.7 maybe he should let his moma drive him, I kept my 2.7 3rz (read gutless piece of junk, power at 3000rpm revlimit 5000) for 4 months an sold it cheap to a wrecker for a grand an put a 1uz in, havnt looked back, ($2000 for front cut) 20mpg round town driving hard an 25mpg open road, and it lights up off a corner 1st 2nd 3rd in the dry both wheels, do like the other guys say conv wise an its too easy
