help needed please

i have 1uzfe motor which i have determined is 1990, it has centre sump, billet fuel rails, csi, bore dia.87.4mm. can anyone tell me if this is ls400 or gs400, and whether head gaskets for all years of 1uzfe are the same. also would anyone have the specifications for the oem head bolts length (ie. max stretched length before they must be replaced?) ...

I dont know about elsewhere, but in the U.S., the GS400 did not come out untill 1998 so here, it could only be a LS400 if its a 1990, but like I said, I dont know if this is the case in AU.

As for the head gaskets, The later VVTI 1uz's have MLS (multi layer steel) headgaskets, but they are interchangable on to the earlier engine.

thanks cjsupra90, yr answer has helped, it seems it would be ok to order mls head gaskets for 1990 ls400 .all i need now is specs for oem head bolts !anyone else able to help here?

If its a centre sump, and the oil filter is at the back, then you have a UZS131 Crown motor.

99.9% of the time the stock bolts are ok to be re-use. Measuring the bolt thread between 9.770 to 9.960 mm is a green light.
