Guys,
Has anyone out there done an Electric Fan conversion in place of the Hydraulic unit ??
Does anyone know if the engine in different models runs without the Hydraulic Fan ???
If there is another varient of the motor without the oil pump running off the serp belt, does it have a cover with an ideler pully on it or a shorter serp belt ????

Regards

Stephen

I have a crown idler to replace the hydralic pump on the engine. LOWBOY bolted it on the other day when he stripped the loom and other stuff off my motor. I will check that the cambelt covers still fit. Cheers

Never heard of a crown idler to replace the hydraulic pump, any pics?? Can you explain what exactly the crown idler is and what it is and does? I live in the States so I am not so sure we have the Crown Idler out here. I have been on this forum all day reading and trying to find answers to my questions about the best way to disable the hydraulic pump. Here is where I am at so far, the pump can be gutted and filled with oil then the two fan oil lines can be plugged. However, I found out that the pump is run by a heat sensor which tells the ECU to activate or power on the hydraulic pump. So why gut the pump when maybe all that needs to be done is possibly removing the sensor or something to that affect...Which will disable the pump anyway. Need answers, and will keep reading and posting until I get them....See ya Gloverman!!!!

Some people have put the hydrollic line in a loop so it just doesn't go anywhere. It seems to work.

Crown engines don't have a hydrollic fan (IIRC), they have a fixed fan which can be unbolted.

This shows how I did it. and I use a Davies Craig thermo fan, which appart from my crap wiring is brilliant.

Man Zuffen I searched and posted my Arse off yesterday to find answers and could not find what I was looking for, thanks for the thread I missed this one...........
