OK, it has been almost 7 years since the US version VVTi 1UZFE was introduced... and like headers... there doesn't appear to be any aftermarket support for the engine.

Several things would be helpful.

Removing/re-setting the RPM limiter. Stock is 6350rpm and should be closer to 7000.

Removing the top speed limiter.

Adjusting A/F ratios.

Adjusting timing maps.

Changing the transmissions shift patterns.

Changing the electronic throttle actuator response.

I would think that the Japanese market would have decoded the ECU and provided a solution but I do not speak Japanese and using translators on their websites leave lots of questions unanswered. Any ideas, suggestions, solutions?

Look up Jeff Harper on ALSC he (well his charming wife actually!) has translated lots of stuff on Soarers.

If anyone can find out it is Jeff.
 
The solution is to run a MoTeC ecu.

These are about the only standalone aftermarket ecu that can handle full control of the vvt-i, and knock sensors (I think), as well as your traction control, etc etc.

But expect to pay about $4000 AUD for one
