I felt very sorry for this member. His GS400 timing belt was off and ruined his valves and possible heads. More details Its a long read but worth every post.
Have you got more of the EM chapter factory repair manual of the ,first generation 1uzfe, on PDF or jpeg or something?
if possible could you email that to me [email protected] or can I download it somewhere?
toymods used to have a bunch of 4age manuals online which I luckily downloaded intime so if any of you wants those... just ask.
ps that guy's indeed in deep trouble over something very small at first sight let's hope it won't cost him a fortune.
He was getting a lot of misinformation from that salimshah guy.
He doesn't sound like he's knows how a motor works. And definitely has never worked on a VVTi 1UZ before.
The gserep1 guy however knew what he was talking about.
Just rebuild my first engine and yes its a 1uz. Probably one of the harder engines to pick as a 1st timer but its been fun. I just finished my valve job/head gaskets and looks like i'll try and fire her up tomorrow when I get this 125amp fuse replaced (no lights on dash except battery icon). Even w/ this fuse blowing a few days ago it still turned over which is a good sign. Figure I will have to blast all the oil out of the exhaust and that should piss of the neighbors but who cares!! lol. The 1uz IMO is pretty dang easy to work on. Yes some bolt locations s*ck but once you tear down once its like riding a bike. If I had to do this again i'm positive I could do it again in a solid weekend.
Dude that totally sucks about that GS owner.... made sure my non VVTI would not have interference w/ the timing as I am a newb onder:
