The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.
It's just the power. More hp will win. Here's the clip for a Civic that takes good care of the Z06 easily. The only time the Z06 catches up is when the Civic reaches its top speed at the end of the 1/4 mile. The Civic has around 125 mph top speed. Some Honda modders topped that off, but not easy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FePwWBrAR8&feature=related. Sorry John, just want to show you the Z06 isn't everything.

I just like the Z06 for its top speed. I never maxxed out the SC at top speed, but I like a car that can touch 180 mph easily.

Steve, it's funny that you say that, being on the LStech forum and corresponding with a few Z06 owners over the last few months, a few have said they get suprised mostly by turbo charged light weight front wheel drive Honda's...A CRX or something at the track beat one guy in his ZO6...

Never said in stock form the Z06 is unbeatable, I just like the Z06 when you add 100-200whp to these cars thru mods, then you're dealing with something very special... Steve, In your above U-tube vid that Honda just got a much better launch that was really it, but never actually pulled on the Z06 from what I could tell.....

Yes, they can be beat of course, and even by a powerful boosted Honda...

I say go for the TT Z06. There is not a TT kit for the SC that has the same quality, engineering, and support that APS has. Not only that, I don't see any SC400 of any modification level (short of a dedicated race car) that would hang with the Z06 on the road course. Perhaps you could build a SC that can run great 1/4 mile times, but the Z06 is so much more than that. If you want a great sports car, and not a great grand tourer, get the Z06

TurboAndrew, You see things the exact same way I do...Thanks man...

Well, I just got through PM'ing one guy with a ZO6 that he had recently dyno'd at exactly 556whp..He has installed performance Cams, Corsa exhaust, Calaway intake and a tune job, that's it..... That's 56 more WHP then I had originally thought possible with these mods.....Biggest power gains he said came with the Cam upgrade, then the exhaust, then the tune, lastly the intake.... This guy also says he hasn't lost a track race since the upgrades were installed in the quarter, he's raced Porsche's, N/A Vipers, Mustangs, turbo'd imports, etc.. and I believe him..... I got pretty siked just Pm'ing this guy and talking about his ride..... He had told me all those mods made a big difference in his Z06, very much faster then stock.... Night and day were his words.....

Now with these bolt on mods for the LS7 motor, it goes from the stock 440whp output to 550whp for around $5000. That is an increase of 110whp over stock...

It's not quite the 650-700whp you can achieve with the APS twin turb's but I think 550whp should do the trick and still keep the Vette in close to stock form...Keeping the Z06 in N/A form also will help with re-sale, gas consumption and probably reliability in the end..

Just sharing more thoughts and findings..

My 1uz-fe SC400 went from around 175whp to 210whp with full exhaust, intake and ECU  Lextreme Cams would have helped with probably another 40whp or so... Possibly bringing the 4.0 liter N/A 1uz-fe to a whopping 250whp... Not to bash the UZ's but liter size makes all the difference when going N/A only..

I don't think you can get money back on mods even if it professionally done. Also, all car will loose it's value no matter what. Especially, domestic car even as good as the C6 Z06. My manager have his C6 Z06 and just sold his for a dump of 20K loss. He only have the car for 1 year and have have Headers, Intake, Cam, and Tune by a specialist. That car is pristine and it is very fast. I only thing I hate about that car is the interior. It's cheap and makes a lot of noises that would piss you off.

If you want the car that bad then you should get it Jibbby. Follow your dream or whatever makes you happy. Just don't think about getting all its worth when you try to resell it. You might get disappointed and that is just my 2cent for you.

And Ohh... The reason my manager sold the car because he got spank by his friend 500rwhp Nissan 240sx with a built Rb26 LOL. So now he got a 240 and I'm helping he building it up for a fun toy. His daily now is an Audi R8 and that thing is pure sex.

P.S. Don't try to compare UZ motor to LS motor anymore. It's like comparing apple to oranges.

John,
I think you meant that Z06 C6 with 555 bhp (flywheel hp) but not rwhp. The Z06 is usually dynoed at around 400 rwhp (rear wheel hp). I agree with you that Z06 can be gained with a lot of hp with some simple mods. An average Z06 can do a 1/4 mile in 11.7 or 11.8 seconds.

James,
I've been waiting for my car to go against your manager's new Z06. But I guess it's kind of late. If he go for a Silvia 240, then that'll be a real fun. I always love the Silvia with proper mods and body kit. It can be a real drift car any day. The R8 is also a nice car. If anyone wonders how the R8 looks like, check out the movie "The Iron Man". The Z06 can smoke the R8 for speed, but the R8 has its luxury, comfort, and handling that cost 3 times as of the Z06.

Hi James, Now everyone JamesN here is one of the nicest unselfish guys you will ever meet on the forums... When I barely knew him years ago he went out of his way to meet me and get me dealer discount Supra parts at the Toyota Dealership for my SC400... Just thought I would mention that fact of a continued show of appreciation as I still feel I owe James a big favor if he ever needs one... Thanks again buddy..

Now for your bosses Z06 James, him losing 20 grand at re-sale probably means he bought it brand new and then sold it after one year.. You will lose big money on every car you buy brand new after one year... Now the insides of the Z06's are decent looking/feeling and not exactly luxury like a new Lexus as you suggest.. I personally don't recall hearing too much in cabin noise except from the exhaust sounds of the Z06 Vette's.... Not too many rattles and squeeks to speak of... Maybe your bosses Z06 had issues?... Also selling the Z06 after one year and working on modifying an older 240 Nissan is definetely a step down in looks and all around performance in my opinion.. Like I said before some of the stock Z06 owners said they have been suprised by some of the smaller import cars sporting 400whp +..

Steve - As turboandrew has pointed out the Stock Z06 comes rated at 505bhp and or 440rwhp... With cams, exhaust, intake and tune 110whp can be achieved with the LS7 motor quite easily making the Z06 then run at around 550rwhp... Don't know exactly what that then equates to in the quarter mile run but I am guessing high 10's or low 11's...

Yes, Now fellas the Z06 Vette is not exactly a luxury car by any means of the imagination like the AMG Mercedes, or a high end Lexus's, etc.. The Vipers are even worse...Then again the 2006 Z06 used is not over 50 grand either.. The SL65 AMG would be the one car that I think provides both super performance and luxury all in one.. Again, you will still get just a bit more performance out of Z06 in all aspects over the SL65 AMG...

Fellas your comments are well noted..Thanks...

Curious, James, your boss sold his Z06 just because he lost a race to boosted 240 Nissan?.. Now he's building a 240???? That sounds a bit weird and funky to me personally.. I don't understand that move at all...

Tell you the truth John this guy runs through cars faster then the clothes he wear. He got bored of cars really fast. And always looking for something different to try out. He have way too much money and time on his hands. Yes, he did bought he Vette brand new and that is why he lost all that money. And you are right again that he does have some trouble with that car. I guess the build quality is not always the same. Sometimes you have a worse build car. The car also shut down on him a few time after he runs it really hard and the engine heats up.

Not that he really cared about stepping down to a 240. He wanted to try out 240 because he was totally shock by it. To him it just a toy that he's building for fun. Plus, we all laugh at him when he got beat by a lower car so he was kind of embarrass by that. It was his fault to be cocky in this first place lol. Beside, his daily is an R8 and he just ordered a Porsche Turbo from Techart on the way.
I like the Z06 alot. I would buy one if I have alot of money. But I don't and I'm more into older cars. My dream car is a supra and I will get it soon enough.

If you dream of Vette Jibbby then get the dam car and don't look back.

Guys - What's so special about these Audi R8's? I really don't know much about this car...Is it special in stock form or do you need to boost the hell out of it first... I guess I can google it...

There was a time when Audi cars were considered the worst cars on the road, but that was over a decade ago.. Much like some of the Brit cars of the past...Now I've driven the new 4.2L A8 Audi once a few years ago... My bud was a mechanic at the Audi dealership and got to test drive the A8 Audi..I was very impressed with that ride...Pretty quick too, but what I remember most is that it was a real nice comfortable, sleek and impressive smoothe ride... I would love to own one of those just for a daily driver but those A8's are very expensive also.....

This is the Audi A8 not R8....

Come to think of it I may have seen an R8 cruising on the freeway, I couldn't make out what car it was but think I saw the Audi emblem on it, that car looked real nice...

This is what I know about the R8's.... To be honest fellas I read posts like this all the time on the LS1forum.. Z06's, Boosted T/A's (Trans AMs), and nitrous run Camaro's just cleaning up... This is a thread just posted today which I happened to find.. It's just sick how fast some of these streetable GM cars can get...

http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1011658

Kill stories with the Boosted Z06's are sometimes even more impressive... By the way if you notice I am representing my Lexus SC400 on this forum and get ripped for it all the time... I had to show this root blown GM engine in my avator pic just to get some love... These rednecks on this LS1forum can be very ruthless at times.. It's like my nitorus run SC400 Lexus is one of the slowest cars on the forum, I kid you not.....It get's very frusterating when I read "Wow JIBBBY you gotta hit the nitrous to reach 300whp in your Lexus Sc400 when all I have to do is tap my throttle and I'm at 300whp in my T/A or Camaro"...... I reply and say but my car is a sleeper and will last longer then yours... Then I get ripped.... Basically if your street ride is not running 11's in the quarter your car is slow on this forum...

Jibbby, if you can't run 11's in street trim these days you car is considered slow anywhere :)

and a boosted (17psi no less!!!!) 6.2 litre against a 4.2 litre n/a from a rolling start at speed and you're impressed with the result??? you gotta readjust your thinking mate...it would be his 'beater' i'd be putting on Ebay not the R8

You can't compare for hp between the R8 and the Z06. The R8 isn't actually built for super hp. The R8 only has 420 hp with a 3600 lbs curb weight. The Z06 can kill it easily even without boost. I'm positive my 9 psi of boosted SC can hang with the R8, not to mention even smoke it in 1/4 mile. The R8 is heavy like the SC. However, the R8 is very nice with its look and performance wise. I'd love to have the R8 over the Z06 any day even though I'll lose to the Z06. I've watched and read several reviews on the R8 and hardly found any negative comments. But the Z06 has quite a few from different perspectives.

Thanks Justen, I know my car is basically slow in the quarter mile as is mostly all the Lexus SC400's that are sporting less then 400whp... Tell me something I don't already know, hense looking at Z06's.... However, you can actually get a few of these SC400's pretty quick 0-60mph though if you really try.:drive:Also if you think I am impressed with that thread I am not, but I am impressed with some of the cars on that forum, especially the boosted 700whp Zo6's spinning in the first 4 gears at will....That is why I posted this thread, is to get your guys thoughts on the Z06's.. What better advise then from a bunch of 1uz.. owners much like myself, right?...... :thinkerg:

Justen ole pal, you should really log onto the LS1forum and express your opinion, don't be shy and just throw it out there and say "It should be your beater you should be putting on Ebay and not this R8" .... Dare ya matey and then see what happens next....

Steve - The R8 is basically a slower version of the Skyline in some ways minus the transmission issue of course... A very nice all around ride with alot of technology that is reasonalby fast...Sounds good to me...:fing02: Also sounds expensive too..

Can you live long term with the hard ride of the Z06 ?? I mean its almost a factory race car !!
As you get older, you tend to appreciate the better handling with some comfort.. Believe it or not we are all getting older and hopefully wiser...

I'm not ragging on his ride....just in comparison to an R8 i don't think he's got anything to crow about. I got better things to do than start pointless flame wars.

My 4cly 77 celica hanging with a 355 Ferrari or smoking a 750 Katana, now that's worth some crowing :)
