I got an 87 supra and this concerns the exhaust portion of the swap, I got a ls400 motor and i was wondering would i need the sc400 right-side header. and i was wondering has anyone any sources on downpipes?

Do some searching in the swap section, we have more than one MKIII Supra 1uzfe swap and you can see what they used. IIRC some fabrication of the manifold(s) was required. Downpipes will be custom fabrication.

My friend did a 1UZ-FE in his MK3. He used an SC400 motor and that essentially dropped right in. He installed it w/ the headers not installed because it was an easier fit. AFAIK the MK3 needs rear sump 1UZ, but the front sump might work. If the LS400 and SC400 header design is the same, you should be fine. He did a custom down pipe as well.
