So. My LS400 is a dream. But it's not perfect without a stereo.
Installed a JBL monoblock and a Pioneer 12" sub.
Amp should not run more than 20A
30 mm2 cabling for ground and main from battery.
While playing the HU starts to fade in the display (a Pioneer DEH-whatever)
and interior lightning (not speedo etc) starts fading with the sound.
(more unf, more power fade). Somehow I thought this would be related
to the amp not getting enough juice. Tried to move the ground connection,
and make another ground cable from battery to body (the existing is the orginal
lexus ground cable, and it's pretty small). Have a 1 farad condensator to relieve
the battery some, but the HU is dying and the AMP shutting down even more
the volume gets turned up.
Is there a known problem with grounding ? Someone familiar with this problem ?
