Hey guys my name is neill. I've been lurking on this site a lot as a guest and decided to join. I am collecting parts to do a 1uz swap in my 86 4runner.

What is your goal? Stock powered runner.... or "power enhanced"?

Automatic or manual transmission?

Probably just stock powered, I'm sure it will be a huge improvement over the 22re. And definitely going manual, wouldnt be any fun with an automatic. I already have the motor with harness, ecu, and trans/tcase. Hopefully ordering the bellhousing next week.

you might want to look at getting an adaptor plate.
the only bellhousings available are either from austrailia and cost a lot. or getting one from thailand on e-bay. doh!

I've looked into the adapter plates and don't like the idea of having to use an internal slave.
The bellhousings on ebay go for $485 which is high but not too bad i guess.

Internal slaves are pretty much replacing the old clutch fork setups on oem transmissions these days for a good reason. Fewer parts to fail, and they last as long if not longer than fork setups.
