Hi everyone. Im based in the UK and i am thinking of using the 1UZFE for a bit of drifting and track usage.

I will be trying to shoehorn it into a MK2 Escort or Capri.

Im thinking aboout going forced induction, whether it be charged or turbo'd.

What sort of power and toque figures do they make in N/A version? i want something very torquey, and obviously a turbo would help with this but it would be much easier in N/A form if there is a way of getting good power from them.

Also, could you suggest some good companies that sell aftermarket tuning parts and turbo/charger conversion kits etc?

Cheers!

Welcome boXXer!

Read through and search through this website for the most xUZ-FE information you will likely find.

Turbosystems are engine/chassis specific so your swap is unlikely to work with anyones existing system.

Even though the factory rated the 1990-1994 engines at 250hp/260tq NA the stock engine makes about 225hp. The stock intake manifold is a restriction as is the exhaust. Member RMS installed true race engineered ITB (sliding throttles) and long tube headers on a bone stock Tokoyo taxicab engine and made 307hp @ 6500rpm and 270tq @ 5000rpm on the stock untouched heads with the stock cams. The dyno he posted only went down to 4500rpm where it still made over 260tq. The base engine has decent rods and pistons and an excellent forged crank supported by 6 bolt deep skirted main caps.

For drifting you want excellent throttle response and low end torque. While I am a turbo guy I would recommend the Eaton TVS 4 rotor superchargers. Efficiency that make the lysolm uncomfortable at a lower price and easier to bypass which is great for engines that see both full throttle and light throttle.

Here is a good place to start you research
