Hey all,

Just some basic stuff which is actually quite hard to find on here, even when using the search engine.

everyone is charging these engines, but that's not my thing (unless rotrex chargers are used)

anyway,

look at these spec options and tell me what you think

8 individual flatslide throttle bodies on the stock lower part of the manifold?
Omex 700 Fully prog ECU
real power designed exhaust system, straight through mufflers the lot.
what Revs can the crank/rods take stock? (hope to yank 8000rpm as does the 4age)
4 pintle Yamaha injectors
RAM air intake F1 style (open top mid-engined kitcar)
pipercross pannel filter over the trumpets
maybe some headwork to get cast-lines smoothed out

I'm aiming for inbetween 350 and 400 HP through a 2 shaft transaxle renault UN1 box.

please shout away!

somebody stated that his tuner said the stock cams stink when reved over 6000rpm, van anyone confirm this? 4age cams don't they keep on going ok they're better replaced, but there's no signs of power drop off.

ps are there people that fit G series heads to these engine's ?

im a na supporter aswell im wanting to do a 8 throttle body set up!
Nothing like shitting on a turbo with a N.A

Striker,

You've touched on a question I have never seen answered. "Can we use another Toyota (or other brand) head on our engine?"

I've posed the same question but no one has an answer yet.

Perhaps this is your new mission in life?

Get some pics of your block/heads witha ruler by them. That's gonna be about the only way to quickly repair them.

I doubt it, but you never know.

Are you aiming for 350-400 fly power? or wheel power?

If its flypower, then extractors/exhaust, proper tune, and mild cams should do it no worries.

If its wheel power, then the ITB's, wilder cams should be also be required.

so 350 - 400 wheels is achievable NA, i read somewhere here it wouldnt be possible, but it leaves me with good hope if it is close to possible.

Hey all,

We're talking 350/400 rwHP, not at cranck because I've got acces to a dynoroller bench, not an engine dyno,
besides who cares about flypower.
Has anyone got a few options on the cams? and what would best performance on the stock cams be with correctly mapped ITB intake system? Dyno chart anyone? (prefferably cranck power chart)

ITB's will be on the engine anyway, the previous engine 4age which went into my current kitcar has stock system, so now it's time to build something new/different so ITB's are at hand. It's far easier to fit an Prog ECU and ITB's than to fit a complete stock system in a different car, that's for sure!

target weight of the complete car = between 600 and 700 kilograms. so if there's a torque loss low down to get to power way up, I don't care!

largest problem still is, chassis designer hasn't yet givven green light for the v8 to fit tha chassis with the UN1 box, and Dave Short adaptorplate.

"Want to go faster" equals "Loose Weight"

in the worse case, the car will weigh 700kilo's and have 350hp on the wheels..... ie, no matter what: the weight/HP range will be over 0.5bhp/kilo for comparisson an Enzo has 0.48 bhp/kg
in the realistic case, the car will weigh, 650kilo's and have 380hp which will put it well above an Enzo, at 0.58hp/kilo far over 500hp/tonne. which should do the trick, don't you think?

Kelford cams in New Zealand would be the go for you.

11mm+ lift
300deg+ duration
shim under bucket conversion.

Thank you very Much for that one peewee,

Ohh Goodie Just had another email/CAD from the chassis man, things are beginning to look more and more interesting......
last measurements will be taken tonight on Speedons 1uzfe and Un1 box.

It could take a good few months before any building starts, because I'm the person that will get all stuff rechecked about a zillion times, and keeps altering designs till it truly fits my needs, but hey that's what it's all about aint it.

BTW anyone want to by a perfect driving sylva striker? (it's in holland though) needs to go to fund new project!

Thanx again Peewee, if there's anything I need to know... please shout.

can't wait t get started
