Midmounted Mazda Minitruck

The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.
thanks Graeme, thats actually the supplier i have been in contact with (i think they're the only guys selling these in nz?). He's recommending the GT37, which I think looks the same (same compressor cover), but is 'only' rated at 600hp. As im looking for low boost, 'low' power, im thinking this may be the go?

is there any potential issues with running this turbo? i have no idea about compressor maps and AR ratios etc, so im pretty much going to go with what's recommended on here or by the supplier.

also, whats going to be the best turbine and housing for me? seems like theres a few options!

im thinking of running a Tial 66mm wastegate too.

cheers

We have a T04Z on a XR6T engine with .84 turbine housing ...
It spools almost instant...
These are close to specs except plain bearing...
You have to consider exhaust back pressure ..
Over 2 to 1 is detrimental to engines durability.
Builds to much heat, detonation etc becomes an issue..

Imo turbine between .84 to 1.06 depending on exhaust wheel trim??
This where you have to rely on Frantic's advice.
Being G.T I'd say it has better, more modern compressor cover etc ??

Play around with this as a guide ..

May find this interesting on reliability.. Keep in mind some of these instalations are done by private
car owners...

W/gate from 50mm is big enough.. It also depends on quality of plumbing off the manifolds...

yeah twins would be good but i like the simplicity and look of a big single with a nice big external wastegate. i dont think there will be much difference overall cost/time/power wise, so that's what ive designed the manifolds for. my next build will be more performance oriented, but this one is mainly show, so big and shiny wins... lol ;)

both of those sound the business. at the moment im leaning toward either a masterpower or a garret, as i havent seen borg warner turbos for sale anywhere in nz. XR8tt, how much for one of those in aussie? im coming over for a holiday in a few weeks and could buy some stuff if its at the right price

thanks for the info, ill have to look into those.

its been raised to me a few times that although my videos are ok, people also want pictures. im not a photographer, but have found a solution...

i can win a pro photoshoot just be getting as many 'likes' as possible. here's the pic, 'like' it and you'll be a legend, and ill share the photos with you all.

ps. i think also to like the photo, you need to like the page (https://www.facebook.com/Slotmedia.co.nz). this guy is a pro automotive photographer in nz, so you won't regret it.

ive been doing some more looking at turbos and think im going to go for a GT4294 (journal bearing), with Tial stainless exhaust housing.

the exchange rate is good at the moment, so will probably buy from the states. these guys look to be the cheapest, but please let me know if you know of a better deal or more suitable turbo. cheers
