Individual coil set up - your thoughts please

Hello. We have just tried a replacement coil set up on a nissan RB20DET using bullet type bosch coils. I works very well with the engine reving very cleanly to red line. Now another customer wants the same thing. What are you thoughts using this system on a 1UZ? With aftermarket management of course. Cheers Kelvin

What igniter do you use on the rb engine?

Have you considered going with pencil type motorcycle or other Toyota model COP's, similar to the later 1UZ VVT-i engines?

200sx - v8 we used the factory RB ignitor(r32/r33 Skyline) and matched primary resistance of the coils to match. The ignitor is visable at the back of the engine in some of the pictures
Cribbj - We have considered COP coils but this way is very price effective and coils are readily avaliable. Unfortunately we have to work to a budget.

I am running 8 of the same bosch coils on my 1uzfe ,fired by a Autronic 5oor cdi.Works well good value ,but it is a lot of extra crap on the cam covers.

I use 8 MSD coils, also with the Autronic R500 CDI. The bosch coils are probably a better choice, as they more compact than the MSD units.
