im looking for some 1 to help with replacing my hilux 2.4td with a 8

drop down to nae nae and see brian howat at howat engineering (horlor st, around the corner from the new bunnings store). get the rest of the bits you need off here or trademe. theres a few guys selling gearbox bellhousings or adaptor plates, mounts, and stuff you need. use the search engine in this forum lots. there is a wealth of info here. hilux has been done heaps so you shoudnt have much trouble copying someones setup. brian can do chassis mods and airbags too, if you're that way inclined.

First off read ALL the threads on here as there are a lot of Hilux/Surf/4Runner threads here with decent info.

Is it IFS or solid axle? If it's IFS you want to find a front sump non hydraulic fan motor.

If you are going to run a manual then you want to find one with separate trans computer so you can biff it and run the stock engine ECU only. Otherwise you need to go to a Link or similar aftermarket.

Check trademe as there are good listings for bellhousings and clutches. You need to find out what sort of gearbox you have currently. If it's an LN130 then it's most likely a R15x series box which is good. If it's an LN61 then it's probably a W5x which is okay.

You will need a new radiator or at a minimum a rebuild of your existing plus an electric fan setup. 2in body lift, modify the gearbox cross member and hole in the tunnel for gear levers.

Swap the diesel fuel tank for a 3L V6 tank which has an in tank EFI pump and also swap the gauge cluster over, shorten and lengthen the two driveshafts, rework the exhaust and you are up and running.
