hey guys, just wanting to pick your brains bout a slighty modded 1uz
(by slight i just mean external mods) and how they are on fuel.
just curious cause im currently have a vk project that has a carby 308 and stall, and is quite as u could imagine thirsty to say the least. and with the way the price of fuel is at the moment im looking for another option.
i have a 1uz here at home and just doing some research before i decide to make a motor swap. one thing im scared bout the swap is lack of torque.
trying to decide wether to go 1uz or 304efi and what will be most cost effective at the end of the day.
my options i have come up so far as follows....
#1 stay current 308 and stall * no money had to be spent on fitting it up
* very heavy on fuel
* probably only make a good weekend crusier
#2 convert to 304efi * expense of buying new top end/motor+g/box
* easy fit up
* reasonable daily driver
* cheap to power up
#3 convert to 1uz * expense of fitting motor up (would fit myself)
* good on fuel
* good daily driver
* expensive to power up
anyone with some useful tips would be great, as there is a few on here who have done such mods might be able to tell me bout some of the hidden secrets i would expect to come across..
