EFI main relay stayin on

The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.
i tried changing the ecu to a crown one i have, relay turned on and off but engine wouldn't start.
changed back to uzz31 ecu, and had relay prob again.
ran the engine for a few minutes, turned it off, relay turned off.
it fixed its self

swaped all three relays in the box around. same result.
just noticed there 22A relays. and im running 2 fuel pumps through them.
might be welding the contacts togeather.
i'll try running the pumps from a different source.

Who did the wiring? What are you using to trigger the fuel pump? How long does it stay on for? As its meant too for a bit after you turn the key off and if you dont have it wired correctly the engine will stay running. Cheers

I did the wiring. striped out the harness from the donor car.
fuel pump is triggered by FP pin on the ecu for high speed and oil preasure for low.
The engine stops ok. fuel pump runs for 5-6 secs after engine stops, till oil press drops probably.

i noticed that when i run the engine for a while the main efi relay cuts out after 2-3 secs, but when i just switch the ignition on or run the engine for a minute or 2 the relay will stay on for a few minutes.

thats a stupid way to run the pump triggers
why overcomplicate things
i never run low speed fuel pump wiring as the car is a conversion
u want pump to be at its best especially in a turbo car so i just run proper full bat voltage to f pump just makes things much easier to diagnose down the track for
when u get weird probs like this

go over your efi relay trig wiring
something is backfeeding most porbably
bypass fuel pump wiring and quickly run of switch and not thru relays
and remove f pump relays just to see if its the f pump relays causing feedback

with ign on plug relay in and out if u feel it clicking each time its prob working
the round metal toyota relays are pretty good
2 pumps will draw up to 30 amps plus if they r 044s
ive had similar probs with jobs here and there on different conversions
its all to do with the way my brain decides to wire the relays up
then i have to go over wiring and find out what is causing feedback

oh also check for earths
if u have bad or no earth this can sometimes cause similar probs

if u dont solve it take it to an expert heheheheheheh

but i like complicated.
yeah, i was thinking about ditching the 2-speed pump idea. dont know how the pumps will respond to lower voltage.

efi relay is trigered directly from the ecu.

run 1 relay per pump
find a simple trigger system to trigger the 2 relays
one wire triggers 2 relays so less issues with diagnosing
ive never ran 2 speed pump setup in over 1000 conversions
never had any dead fuel pump issues
its a conversion not a luxury car thats y they run 2 speeds for quietness

I know your just trying to flog your tacho relays : p
the ecu has an output for running fuel pumps, what i need is a relay that will trigger at
2v. ive got one that will trigger from 3v, so it only picks up the high speed signal.
I know it can be worked out with a transistor to bump up the fp signal, but im not to good with small soldering. (i ususaly work with 240/415 stuff)

I bet an auto sparky could knock up a simple setup that would work for conversions and be used to replace the fuel pump ecu on standard cars (which have a habit of dying), hint hint.

hehe y would i do that i domnt get work from this site anymore so i dont help as much
anyway they r only 50 bucks so how much to u think im fking making on them

i might make 50 to 100 bucks every few weeks thru this site maybe not even that
so y would i try very hard to sell anything
do u think i love this site cause it keeps me in business no way
if i had to get up at 6am and goto work for 50 to 100 bucks well id rather stay in bed asleep

anyway ring afew auto sparkies and ask them to build u something for under 50 bucks
and then ask them y yr efi relay is staying on heheheeheheh

maybe we can make a deal
ill wire your car properly
and u come wire my house properly
bet u say no heheheheheheheh
