I am in forced induction project on 88 Cressida .. but I am confused !!
I can get ( 1JZ or 2JZ or 1UZ ) all with same price " without ECU "
I am planning to use stand alone ECU with one or two turbo BUT with stock internal .. because the aftermarket part is expensive and not available here !!
No problem for me to break the engine In one year !! its all available in good price ..
So … I hear that the 2JZ can hold 600 FWHP (Stoke) … is it right ??? and what about 1JZ , 1UZ ??

Also I have twine turbo out of Nissan Skyline 1984 (L20-T) .. is it will be suitable for 1UZ ??
 
i dont know about the 1JZ, but if you want to stay stock then your probably better off with a 2JZ. its already an incredibly strong engine all around, and built for forced induction. were the 1UZ isnt. the 1UZ was designed and built(speculation) with luxury and smoothness in mind, so it doesnt have the bottom end that can handle high horsepower that the 2JZ doesnt. incase you didnt know, get the GTE version of the 2JZ, because the 2JZ also came in a naturally aspirated form, called the GE, that probably doesnt have the strength its higher power GTE borther does.
 
Actually I was talking about 2JZ-GE . because the GTE version can't be find and if you find it the price will be very high !!!!

I see one 1JZ-GTE with manual transmission >> It will be better than 2JZ-GE ???

I can tell you the early model 1uz-fe engines are very stout motors and can handle good horsepower in stock form....I have yet to seen one blow from pushing too much horsepower...Got mine pushing amost 500 ft pounds of torque and it is still humming right along...I think they can handle 500whp if they can handle 500 ft pounds of torque....That's not to shabby....Although, most don't dare to venture to that mark and change to forgies before...

The 1uz-fe motors will produce way more torque at lowend then the inline six bangers... Remember torque wins races....

What's your power goals?
 
My goal is ~ 400 RWHP , it will be ok as you said …. And I can install switch to control the boost ..

But is that twin turbo ( out of L20T ) will get me to that goal ??
I can make some measurement to the turbo .. but tell me what you need to know ??
 
I think the there is one advantage in 2JZ-GE over 1UZ-FE. That it is from G series.
So the head design can flow more air in the engine .

I hope that we can have 1UZ-GE , what you think guys ??
