I just bought this '95 LS400 and I absolutely love it. I have done relatively little work on cars, but I want to learn all I can about taking care of this thing. What are some good things that I can do to "get me feet wet?"

Adding fluids? Draining fluids? Cleaning parts? Detailing engine parts? Filters? Spark plugs?

What should I tried and what should I not try?

Thanks, New Enthusiast

I am certainly no expert as I just bought my 1st LS 3 weeks ago. That being said, I have been a Lex/Toy tech for about 3 years. How skilled do you consider yourself? If you have to skill and the confidence the only thing stopping you is finance. I would personally start with drain oil, replace oil filter, check air filter, changing coolant and drain and fill tranny, and try to differential fluid, after you do that stuff you will most likely deicde you've had enough. But thats my 2 cents.

Averona, what is the mileage on your LS? Also you can go to the dealership give them the vin # and they can print out service records that have been done in the past at a Lexus dealership.
