.7 Liters Extra or four bolts extra?

I have been thinking about mix and match the 1uz with 2uz bottom. However, come to think of it, the 2uz only have two bolt main. Should i gain .7 liters and loose 4 bolt main (using 2uz bottom and 1uz top) or loose .7 liter and gain 4 bolt main (remain 1uzfe all the way)? Confused?

keep the 1UZ. it is the most understressed factory engine in history - next to a 19.0L V16 CAT diesel.

looks like it has the meat cast in to take the extra bolts though...

maybe you could have the holes machined in and use 1UZFE mains caps?

1UZ is 6 bolt main as we all know, and that first picture of mains is the 1uz's.

The main reason 1uz's are 6 bolt is the fact that they are aluminium.
If they were iron block they would be 4 bolt main.

Who know why they made the 2uz only 2 bolt main.
Probably because it was never built to rev.
Try and rev it too much and you'll probably blow it.

just my opinion-I would have thought the 2uz block,with main studs,and a substantial(12mm?)girdle plate would be strong enough for most applications.
If I needed/could use the extra c.i.d.,that's the way I would approch it.
