I have been thinking about mix and match the 1uz with 2uz bottom. However, come to think of it, the 2uz only have two bolt main. Should i gain .7 liters and loose 4 bolt main (using 2uz bottom and 1uz top) or loose .7 liter and gain 4 bolt main (remain 1uzfe all the way)? Confused?

1UZ is 6 bolt main as we all know, and that first picture of mains is the 1uz's.

The main reason 1uz's are 6 bolt is the fact that they are aluminium.
If they were iron block they would be 4 bolt main.

Who know why they made the 2uz only 2 bolt main.
Probably because it was never built to rev.
Try and rev it too much and you'll probably blow it.

just my opinion-I would have thought the 2uz block,with main studs,and a substantial(12mm?)girdle plate would be strong enough for most applications.
If I needed/could use the extra c.i.d.,that's the way I would approch it.
