1uzfe into 91 4runner: Diff ratio?

Hi guys. I'm looking at putting a 1uzfe into a 91 RV6 4runner. Will the motor be happy with a diff ratio of 4.56? Would I also have to strenghten the uni's on the tail shaft?

That will be a tight squeeze.

Although you will have a 30% OD it would be happier with 4.1's.

I used 4.1's with a Toy A340 auto behind a HO 5.0 and it gave 2150rpm @110kph.

I now have a 5 speed but I modified the OD to 37% so I could use 4.56's but not affect OD cruising, ie its now 2100rpm@110kph.

If you post your loaded wheel ratio, ie height in inches from ground to centre of wheel your rpm's can be worked out with each ratio.

Your uni's will be more than strong enough.

I run 4.88 diff gears in my lux and I am not changing them when it is back on the road again with the V8 in it. But for the type of driving I do with it lower gears are better. Plus since the lux is lucky if it does 5000kms a year on the road I don`t think it will matter.
