Whats this???????????

The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.
Mate I know fark all about motors and have never said other wise.

We didn`t think it was needed and its not connected.

Just trying to work out what my problem is and I need it fixed by friday luch time at the latest as I want to take it out for a drive this weekend and everything else is basicly finished.

Motor starts after a few goes, idols perfectly, try to rev it and it goes good up to approx 1500 - 2000 rpm, then it coughs, splutters, tries to back fire and tries to stall, lift foot off go pedal and it comes back to idol but then it is hunting up and down in its idol revs. Oh and you can smell the fuel which means over fueling to me.

Its either limphome mode, or you have some sparkplugs leads cross up.

Check the leads first, then check the timing, see if its about 15deg at idle, and advances with throttle.

mine had a similar issue, my maf sensor that plugs into the top of the chamber was not fully seated after being cleaned. Vaccum leak causes all sorts of stupid issues

The only thing on the motor that has been removed is the spark plugs and this was only last night, this motor has basicly come straight out of the half cut and was dropped straight in. Not even the loom has been removed and put back on. We did remove all the wires from it for the auto but thats all.

I wouldn`t think it would even idol correctly if it was injectors nore would it hunt after trying to rev it. But then again I don`t know much about motors, this is just the way I would look at it with my limited knowledge.

Motors can do very strange things.

Sometimes mine will idle at 500rpm, sometimes, 1000rpm, sometimes 1500rpm.

Sometimes it starts perfect cold, sometimes it will idle at 300rpm flick the throttle go up to 1500 as per it should, sometimes it will come back down to 500 after i flick it up to 1500.

Faulty injectors are quite common for a motor that hasn't been run in a few years.

I'd get them cleaned purely for piece of mind.
You don't want one injectors to be down 20% and melt a piston do you?

my 92 crown injectors got cleaned last month

they made bugger all difference

1uzs run so perfectly in their mixtures

i even ran decarboniser thru the en gine and it wasnt even dirty

The earth wire I mentioned would have been connected to the body in the half cut not the motor. At least mine was connected to the body.

I just checked and its earthed to the motor. Its another thing that has never been touched.

If all else fails tonight I will try to get them done tomorrow.

check alternater charge volts, if volts are low motor will hunt at idol and not rev, check and clean earths , I had same probs on my lux. also ensure batt is fully charged to start with

Think it might be AFM as we unplugged it and it didn`t seam to make any differance (stuff all if it did). Now the next thing is to find another AFM to try. If need be I`ll drive to Melbourne tomorrow to get one.

Anybody in Melbourne, or Canberra even, have one I can borrow for a week? I`ll buy ya a slab if you do.
