Have you guys thought of using twin chargers for the 1uzfe. I meant built 1uzfe. The Rotrex is small and compact and it also pack a punch. I got this idea from Pete (V8Supra). These chargers home themself in the location of the AC compressor and Alternator. The alternator will relocate to the Power Steering location. Built 1UZ, twin Rotrex with intercooler http://wbtinc.com/PDF/Rotrex_C38.pdf

i wouldn't bother with twins - that's a lot of belt!!!

putting the pair of them as low as you mention, it would be very hard to get the plumbing to the compressor inlet around the engine mounts and in between the exhaust and still have the pulleys line up.

I think if the maker can put an extra crank pulley like 7.5". This will increase 2" clearance... just something in my mind. However, the chargers are very expensive....

Ismo67 made 343 rwhp with 12.24 psi

If we can put in two units we can hit over 20 psi.

Also would you not have to have one of them with a compressor in reverse so they could mirror each other in mounting?

Low would be good for centre of gravity but as mentioned hard to plumb and could suffer from heat from the exhaust. You could mount them high though on opposite sides ala Vortex etc.

Why wouldn't you be able to hit 20psi with one unit? A second unit won't give you higher psi. A second unit will give you more air pushed in at the same psi.

Wouldn't it be easier to purcahse a kit from someone lich Richwood Technologies and use a twin screw supercharger.

It certainly wouldnt cost any more and would bolt straight on.

Efficiency is the big quality of the rotrex.

More HP per pound of boost.

I think you'll find they are no better than a twin screw.
While the twin screw is mighty for a street car, a centrifugal will always make more peak hp. Second only to the turbocharger.

The compressor efficency is higher on any supercharging element when it is larger.

twin%20charged.jpg An actual application of twin charging. Note that this powerplant is two stroke and a Diesel, so that is why it is done this way.
