0I am going to start my build thread here.
This is what I inherited from my father. He was an old school trucker and wanted his retirement rig to look the part. I helped him find this custom mini-truck and trailer combo. I built the headache rack and added the dual exhaust stacks and running boards. He added the massive mirrors and the spotlights. He loved the stupid thing and dragged that trailer all over the PNW ( Pacific Northwest).
This is where it is now. Smaller mirrors, shorter stacks and 4” lower with wheels painted orange. I also found a Knack tool box for the bed that fits perfectly.
The plan is to put as much of the 91 LS400 into and under this truck as possible. I also have a pair of small turbos from an Audi Allroad 2.7 twin turbo that I want to run. I plan to do a remote turbo setup putting one in the forward utility box that the exhaust stacks run through to keep from having to cut up the hood to make them fit. The 1UZ only has 170K on it so I plan on running low boost (8-10 psi) to see how it handles being force fed with the stock ecu.
My dream is to make this my all around fun machine. Reasonably fast 1/4 mile to do a drag and drive event, decent handling to do auto cross and maybe even Hot Rod Power Tour.
I am not a young man but I have enough shop space, enough tools and enough experience to make this happen. What I don’t have is a big budget. This will be a low buck build.
