Transmission Rebuilt Kit

The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.
Damn! They charge $495 for what is essentially the same thing that B&M charges $50 for for a Ford or GM transmission. So much for inexpensive upgrades in comparison to having done a 302/AOD swap...

What product are you referring to?

I assure you that we have worked very hard to insure that we don't have any items that are essentially the same as any 'B&M' anything :)

Lexus parts are expensive. If we have damand like Chevy, then i am sure things would cheap like Chevy parts. However, we dont have that luxury. We are luck enough to have someone make it for us. One other example would be 350 Chevy rods. The Forged H Beam 5.7 rods U can find them on ebay for about $350, but none avialable for Lexus and custom set would run about $1,600.

Yeah, but the $495 service is a one day turnaround on modding yours. Not like it takes a lot of time...

Vicious cycle. If it were more popular, it'd be less expensive. But if it were less expensive, it'd be more popular... Even their valve body conversion for the relatively unpopular (in performance circles) Ford AOD is less than half that...

But for that kind of money, I could use a manual in my '63 Comet swap...

I'm pretty sure that purchasing a valve body separator plate from B&M that fits a 1975 Nova is not an apples to apples comparison with having a late model Asian computer controlled transmission valve body modified for performance use. (Perhaps this is why B&M and the other large transmission companies won't touch anything that isn't made in Detroit).

In any case, I don't force anyone to buy anything, but apparently, judging by the fact that I do several Toyota valve bodies for my customers every week, many people must feel that it is worthwhile.

Ironically, our competitors are charging nearly $800 for their modded vb's, which I feel pale in comparison to ours.

Oh, I agree, and I'm not dissing your work. My main point is simply that even the guys making the stuff for domestics didn't start out high priced due to limited sales, and then drop their price as more people bought them.

And yes, the stuff for a late model asian computer controlled transmission must be more difficult to do than for a late model domestic computer controlled transmssion, which explains why it takes a whole day to do the work and get it shipped back. I'm sure the principles of a valve body are vastly different in a Lexus than in an AOD.

Just ribbing you. I know that the work is top notch, and it's a small market (generally of people spending a ton on the cars to start with, and used to spending that kind of cash on their cars). I'm just not used to spending more on a shift improver kit than I would for the whole trans to start with, especially since I'm not building a race car, but a cruiser out of my '63 Comet.
