(LS400 1UZ- Crown auto in hilux)
I have a transmission problem lads.
For some reason i don't have selective 1st or second. correct me if i'm wrong but 1st is first and second is 1st-2nd. If i select 1st and accelorate it'll go 1,2,3. if take my foot off the accelorator it will all of a sudden pull 1st and lock up. it seems like it doesn't know wat gear its in, it will drive fine in D. over drive kicks in and does everything its meant to do, but if i'm driving alone and pull it to second all it does is pull itself out off overdrive and hold third.
I've checked fluid, transducer, all conections, done a million changes on ratio box. Ohh it only started doin this after i put the transducer on. any ideas??

double check the wiring to the auto ecu

there are afew wires which tell it if your in neut or rev or 1st or 2nd

u might have them wrong

who did u buy the ratio box was it venom

i did mine a different way much easier and less fiddly

but if its because of the ratio box it is possibly a wrong speed signal

My computer is intergraded so i wouldn't know wat i'd be looking at without a wireing diagram.
i got my ratiox box and hall effect transducer from veno....Is this a problem?? i've asked him why its doing this but he didn't say much.
if it is the ratio box and wrong speed signal, how do i correct it?? would venom have known it would do this???
 
if u have integrated auto and engine in one ecu u dont need a ratio box

u can use it but its a waste of money

just throw it out

all it is for is the back up speed sensor

but the factory loom has a main speed sensor to it

did u buy loom from venom too

i do my 1uz looms different to him so i cant judge what he does

anyway just leave it out
 
Yeah mate got the lot from venom.
I unpluged the ratio box, but it just cuts out around 2500, is this because theres no speed sensor? i thought the ratio box took over the speed sensors job. if i chuck the ratio box what goes in its place?
Is it easyer put the old transducer back in and get an electric speedo??
 
u didnt say u had rev cut in yr first post

is it at same spot every time

if it is its in limp mode and u have wiring problem

u should not have used the crown auto with the ls400 ecu and engine

always causes headaches and i guess u have one

crown has 2 sensors on back

one of them has 32 pulses per rev of output shaft
ls400 needs 4 not 32

so u have to reduce the 32 to 4

but i doubt this will cure yr rev cut

ive had this prob afew times many years ago and i took ages to sort out

i would look at yr loom again

u should be able to rev it to 6500 in nuetral and if u cant u have a problem

ive done 80 1uzs and never had a rev cut due to speed sensor

anyway send it back to venom

unless u want to pay me to look at it
 
Naa Its not in limp home mode mate, pulled codes and had 56 and TPS sensor. The rev cut is only in N and Park. It will rev to 6500rpm in drive but if i diconect the ratio box i have a engine cut in gear.
Its fine to drive, drives beautifuly, i just don't have manual 1st or second.
I think i'll put the original transducer in it and go without a speedo, i know that way everything is perfect apart for the engine cut in N and P.

I asked venom about the Crown box with the LS400 because i read on here that it was bad news, he said it would be fine.

Also, i thought the engine cut in N/P was something to do with code 56. I read on a forum that if i ground the blue wire on the back of the ecu (dun remember PIN or Plug) it sorts itself out. apparantly its low fluid level for hydrualic fan.

like i say take the fuking thing back and get it sorted

people pay too much money and then end up with problems

i am never like that to my customers i always try to make it perfect


anyway u need to take it to someone to look at it

i just told someone else off on here cause they dont realsie how hard things are to fix on the forums fukinnngng hard without looking at the car

like i tell everyone

bring car to me and ill fix it in 30 minutes

u have to understand speed signals and the differences between the ls400 and the crown

on this interface box what model is it

6100 or a 6102

for the ls400 u need a 6102

they are not cheap

send me 600 bucks and ill stay on the phone all day and help u hehehehe

otherwise speed signals are very complicated

if the speed sensor u r using is the speedometer one then u have used the wrong speedo sensor on the crown

i know the electrics on these boxes alot and i think u have used the wrong sensor

basically the sensor that srews on is for the speedometer


the sensor that has a 12mm head bolt iis the one for the speed signal to the ecu

u need to convert this one

anyway im sick of fixing other guys fukupppps

im off to do some work
