I would go Dealer auctions, Insurance salvage sales, local papers, supra forums, etc...Call all import junk yards... With enough persistance you will find a busted Supra for cheap somewhere....

As the Supras get older you should be able to find "fixable" cars at auction for under $10K if all you want is a project car or a racecar. There's been a few fixed salvage title cars on SF, and there's one currently that the owner is calling a "shell". No powertrain or wheels, but apparently it has an interior. The owner hasn't been very responsive to questions, but FWIW here it is:

what do you want Lex, a turbo supra or a N/A supra?

there's 2 worlds between the 2 cars.

transmission, gearing, suspension, etc. a supra N/A is just like a SC400 without the 2JZ.

but if you compare the turbo supra VS the SC400, then i'd go turbo supra, but it will cost a lot more than 6000-8000$

The Supra TT would cost way more and both would be performing close to the same, that is with a just a few SC4 suspension mods...

After mod upgrades to a Supra TT to blow away the SC400T you could be looking at $20,000USD or more in total...The SC4 would still be under $10,000 boosted....

Just a few other things to consider...
