Project Thread Supercharged Supra

The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.
Good to have you back again Andrew. Seems like a number of dormant projects are reawakening :) Yours ought to be quite a beast.

I was taking the P a little there. My own SC is an Opcon Autorotor model MX422, ie 2.2 liter, so I'm a little overkilled too :)

You should be able to get 20 psi easily; mine made 22 psi on a 1UZ engine we dynoed back in 2008, but I've forgotten what drive ratio I was running. It might have been a 73mm pulley being driven by the stock dampner?

Aren't most of us have overkill projects and parts? Big supercharger for middle power level engine, big fuel injectors that only need to work 70% of them, bullet proof ignition system...etc. lol

Hi John, How is it going? I am hoping to make the drive to Houston in the next 3 weeks to drop off my engine, I keep getting distracted by this darn thing. LOL
Its my boys car, we had yet another set back in the way of Baseball to grapefruit sized hail but we are back on track I hope.

Our dyno could be pushed back a little but I am going to make it!

This is great to see these dormant projects coming to life!

Scott, Clint Eastwood would be proud of that one! It's one of the new style Torino's from 70 onward, isn't it?

Your not far off, she is actually a 1969 Galaxie XL (like the LTD), Not really fair though, We modded the front to give it a muscle car look. It also has a cougar scoop. It needed hide away headlights without that bulge that makes it look like it should be settuing in the parking lot of a strip club. LOL

Here is the front before the custom grill and a hood and bumper change.

Yeah, the scoop, manual tranny and what looks like hood pins(??) in one photo threw me

I remember a hotrod version of the Torino having all the above, but I remembered the Galaxie as a big cruiser that you had to work pretty hard at to make it go fast.

Nope, but I had to fiddle with several different sizes of of o-rings until I was able to get a leakfree seal.

Thanks for the above. Have you made any further progress with the ignition? I have read several posts on using Honda CBR coils, but yet to find anyone who has been successful. I am sure you will prove me wrong.

I'm using these coils on my TT VVTI engine with no dramas thus far....they are driven by a 500r CDI box

John, I have another question if I may. In a previous post you stated that you relocated the breather ports to the rear of the valve covers and made them -8 AN males. I would like to do the same with mine, but was wondering what you did with the oil baffle (and brown gasket) which is permently fixed to the underside of the covers.
