Hey Gang,

Met those guys at SEMA http://www.ststurbo.com/tundra_4_7l_kits and they have a single turbo kit for the Tundra for $3999 USD. Check it out. I talked to them and they stated lag is not a problem at all. Their system are remote mount. The turbo is mounted somewhere near the rear differential. Interesting concept.

Sts Turbo Kit

Hi Lextreme, had a look at their site, any thoughts on what model Garrett they use, strange they don't mention the model anywhere on their site.

I just have a really hard time believing there is no more lag with a 10+ foot exhaust between the turbo and engine and another 10+ ft of intake tubing from the compressor to the intake. Besides, there is -tons- of room in the Tundra engine bay for a turbo upgrade.

Good find lextreme. My friend with an LT-1 camaro was telling me about this remote kit he saw in a magazine and this must be the company. I just can't imagine as turboandrew stated, not having excessive turbo lag. Anyway looks innovational, can't wait for more info, maybe we could use a design like this on our tight engine bays.

At least you wouldn't need a cooler with all that piping.
I have seen photos of these kits on comaros and the turbo hangs lower than anything else. i would rather scrap my nice strong diff than my really hot expensive turbo.
By the time the exhaust gas got to the turbo it would be cooleand dens it should have ost nearley enough speed to make it realy ineffective.
On a 4x4 is that realy where you want your turbo mounted.
i have looked at these many times i am very sceptical. they are going to have lag every turbo aplication does and this is going to have more than anything else.

What is the reason to put the turbo in this place, there is a huge room for it as turboandrew said.
and why they didn't run an Intercooler?
What about Turbo Safari kits?
looks better and more power and torque
