starter motor live feed

Hi all,

I'm starting on wiring up my 1uz engine, The engine is from a soarer, with the live battery feed presented on the left front of the engine.

It would be useful to me to be able to re route this live feed to come from the other side of the engine - does anyone know the route the live starter feed takes and if it could be re routed without taking the engine out?

If needed i can run a high current cable round to that side, but would be preferable to have a shorter more direct run if it can be sensibly achieved.

The cable runs through the plastic cable duct at the rear of the inlet manifold.

A bit difficult to get to with the motor in but do-able.

You would need to unbolt the duct and open it up to release the cable.

Another option would be just leave it there and remove the intake and run a new starter cable to the starter motor.

Whilst in there you could check the starter out as they don't see much attention.

Thanks - that's good thinking - a lot easier to get the plenum off than get to the back of the block.

Btw the starter is good. I give the engine a few spins on the starter every few weeks to keep the oil going round it.

You need to take of the lower manifold not just the top plenum.

Didn't want to see you take it off separately.

Thanks - I have yet to take any of it off but good to know it can come off in one piece and not be split. I've also yet to take the injectors off for cleaning, I've not done any work on this engine yet.
