Backdraft

Hi Everyone,
Can anyone help with information regarding all the pipes and tubes on my engine. What can I remove and what do I have to connect. I will not have any heater or aircon. Seems to be a lot of little pipes and tubes, can't all be for the idle system???
Thank you,
Johnno

Backdraft, by no means could I answer your question but would an exploded view of the throttle body and intake manifold help you? Lot's of information on this subject if you use the search function on the forum.

Thank you Andrew, I have been searching and getting some results from looking at photos on the forum. Should be firing it up next week so I'm hoping it's going to make all the right noises.
Thanks for your input.

I'll be doing the same in a few weeks also...Well I know how these things draw time... A few month's ....

lots to remove!!

Hi guys i have been playing with these for over 7 years now
thought i may help you out.
The first pipe i get rid of is the idle air motor and throttle body water heating it starts off as a 10 mm hose out the back of the t/stat housing and connects to the idle air motor then goes around the side of the plenum and onto the t/body then goes to the rear of the engine and connects to the rear water crossover bridge just blank it off at both ends. A tip is that on the idle air motor there is a blanking cap you can use it on the back pipe and use a piece of 10 mm bar to plug the front hose dont use a bolt as it will leak up the thread.
the celciors have 1/4 " pipe which come from the headertank to the t/stat housing if you are not using the headertank you can plug that one too .
If you are not using the heater pipe you can blank them off or join them together it wont affect the cooling system.
The vacum valve on the left front of the plenum is for the charcoal purg canister which connects to the fuel tank the valve is controlesd by the ecu and opens once the throttle is opened. if yo hav an externally vented fule tank you can disconnect this as well.
leave the crankcase vent system alone it works fine unless you are planning FI then you will have to move the inlet pipe from the t/body if it see boost.
Icant think of any thing else if you have a specific question i am happy to help.
Regards oz.

Delete the hydro pump and all the plumping to cool the fluid and go with electric fans...EGR deletion will get rid of some smaller lines on top of the motor... Dump the A/C and remove all the A/C hoses and lines... What else? Dump the PS pump and all the lines to that...

You need to keep your cooling radiator lines upper and lower intact.....
