Hey all,
Getting ready to buy mandrel bends, straights etc for exhaust. Mild steel only for low $$$ and we'll be welding it up ourselves.
Lextreme - will be hitting you up for flanges soon!
System will have dual hotdogs into x-over into 3" supertrapps.
Construction will be very similar to
Engine config will be:
Stage 1 (first season) motor: dual intake, slightly higher compression, standard cams, vernier cam gears, 315cc injectors, 8k rev limit.
Stage 2 motor will be above with 248 and 240deg cams at 10.5mm lift, 11.5:1 comp.
I need an exhaust that will work on both motors, but suit stage 2 better.
Could I ask the fine patrons of this site to provide some feedback on my exhaust plan which is:
1 5/8" (41.2mm) equal length at 450mm long into a 2.75" (69.9mm) collector into 2.75" hotdog into x-over with 3" outlets into the supertrapps.
We're looking for torque not HP. Ive run this config through EAP and it appears OK (but you cant add the supertrapps obviously) but I'd like some real world advice/suggestions/critisism.
Also, I understand the heads are 1.5 inch. if the extractors are 1 5/8 should I port match the exhaust smoot the the flange? Ie polished or leave it rough from the carbide tip?
