I know many of you are busy on some of your projects (some really cool ones), but I have yet another twist. FWIW, I really wanted to do a twin turbo project, and maybe eventually I will, but I have never built or owned a supercharged engine, and I would really like to do something different for myself.
So, what I am thinking is using a supercharger very similar to the kenne bell kit they use on the 2003+ Cobra. They get over 600 rwhp with ~22psi on a whipple supercharger. IMO, a 4.7l 1/2/3UZ with a similar whipple charger with headers, some good tuning could do the same.
The supercharger is here:

This unit shoulld be much more efficient than the roots style eaton superchargers. This is what the new Ford GT is getting and what AMG uses for the E55 and SL55.
I plan on starting with a 2UZ block with 98+ 1UZ heads/cams/vvti. The great thing about the later UZ motors is the lower intake is almost perfect for a supercharger like this. Once the original intake plenum is removed, the runners run from the head straight up, leaving a nice space in between the banks for the supercharger. The supercharger will blow -upwards- in to a plenum, then the runners will be attached on the ends of the plenum. A good example (on a UZ motor) is here:

I won't use an intercooler, but supplement the stock fuel system with a methanol injection, probably 8 or 16 stainless injectors all mounted in the new plenum. The methanol will cool the intake charge incredibly and should be just as effective, if not more effective than any intercooler.
All engine managment will be done with the AEM Supra unit. AEM already has support for staged injection. They do not have enough drivers for the extra injectors, but I already have hardware for that.
So, what you all think? Any obvious problems with this?
