Got a donor parked in my brother's driveway for few days and tried to decide parting or putting it back. This donor was from this project http://lextreme.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12344
Well, I found a guy have an 95% complete LS400 engine for $240. It has few missing parts like coils and few covers. I used SC400 transmssion that I have in my storage on this LS. http://lextreme.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12368

After few hours here and there. It finally fired up and ran very smooth. I will post some pics next couple of weeks.

To think that an LS400 in Australia rarely sold new for less than $140,000 (Aussie) they are now worth nothing.

I wonder how similar priced Mercedes and BMWs fared?

Dave, you should start making a TV show called Lextreme Overhaul'n. Something like we take any abused Lexus's, fire victims, roll over victims, and wreck victims and bring them back to life for pennies on the dollar.

I think I need to start doing what you do Lex.. Look in local wreck yards, recyclers, Ebay, Craigs lists for these dirt cheap SC's and LS's that are beat up then take these throw away cars and restore them back to driveable condition..

My biggest fear would be where to keep all the left over parts and cars... That's the scary part of doing this, your home and garage becomes basically a junk yard of used Lexus parts...

Jib,

I am looking for a blown headgasket LandCruiser. Series 80 with that inline big 6 cyclers (4.5L)

You remember that story of mine, ha ha...I still miss that clean Landcruiser to this day. Frigg'n blown head gasket.. :dunno:

That was a great truck while it lasted, but it did suck up the gas big time.. Those cruisers with the inline 4.5L motors simply are not friendly at the gas pumps..

That Landcruiser of mine is now a converted 4 cylinder diesel if you can believe that.. The guy I sold it too swapped out the motor for a Diesel successfully.. That same dude also still owns one of the fastest 2jz powered Supra's I've ever seen..
