The suspension section here has great brake resources but almost nothing on coilovers, so I figured I'd start a reference thread. Every few months someone asks the same question in general discussion and the answers are scattered.
I'll go first.
Running Megan Racing EZ Street coilovers on my SC400. Dropped about 1.5 inches, spring rate is on the softer side which suits the car -- it's a cruiser, not a track car. Ride quality is acceptable for daily use, though the damper adjustment range is limited at the low end. Install was straightforward, no major fitment issues. If I were doing it again I'd probably spend more and get the Tein Street Basis Z for better damper control, but for the money the Megans are fine.
A few things worth including if you post your setup:
What car and year
Brand and model of coilover
How much drop
Spring rates if you know them
Ride quality on the street (1 to 10)
Any fitment issues
Would you buy again
Also worth discussing: anyone running coilovers on a swapped chassis? Curious how the weight distribution of the 1UZ affects setup choices in something like a Cressida or first-gen MR2.
