CRS rear sump

My CRS rear sump turned up today for my 1UZ But since the motor had a mid sump on it I have to move the dip stick to the other position at the rear of the block. How the hell do I get the pressed in stud out of the hole?

No I can`t just knock it all the way threw like I was thinking to start with. Before I even tried this I removed the dip stick tube (from the front position) to check the hole to see if this was doable but its not as the hole gets smaller before it gets bigger, it has a small lip in there to stop the dip stick tube on .

No I can`t put a long rod up from the bottom as the hole/passage in the block that the dip stick runs down goes vertiacl then bends before its to the top where the plug is.

What can I do???????

Hope that makes sense

I drilled a hole in mine, tapped a thread in it and screwed a slide hammer into it. It came out easy with a few taps. If you don't have a slide hammer, you could probably just screw a bolt into it and pull it out with a good pair of pliers.

OK got the dip stick sorted.

Now the problem is a stud I can`t get out, thats not realy a biggy I`ll get that tomorrow arvo.

The biggest problem I have is where to bolt the pickup end of the oil pickup to? As there is no holes where the mounts for it are. This is a modified oil pickup to suit the rear sump.

Old thread... but what is the easiest way of removing the dipstick mounting tube from the head?? It seems to be mounted pretty solid.

I ended up hitting it all the way in so it just fell out the bottom. The plug is softer metal then the block so it doesn`t hert the block at all. Then I just reused the same plug in the old dip stick hole with some gaskit gu on it, haven`t had any problems yet.
