Short of having a dynomometer and a 1/8th mi. track in my backyard, what is the best tool for monitoring the performance upgrades on my SC400? I bought my car on Oct. 29, 2004. I've changed all the fluids and filters, complete tune-up, fuel and AC filter left. RMM sport intake installed. Still, I have no idea what hp I get at 5600 rpm, torque at 4000 or 0-60 time. I found a product from Tesla electronics at gtechprostore called G-Tech/Pro SS. Does anyone have one or similar product? What do you recommend?

Conversion to cold intake & new exhaust planned for January!

I had an old version of the G-Tech Pro thattook to the dragstrip. It was pretty damn close - within 2 tenths at the worst - compared to the official timeslips. The MPH was higher on the G-Tech because of the way the dragstrip clock calculates the MPH. From what I understand, the newer accelerometers are even more accurate, so it's probably a reasonable way to track progress. Just make sure you use the same piece of road every time and understand that many other factors will affect your performance - ambient temperature, the weight of the oil you use, etc. etc.

Thanks, Dr. X. I went ahead and bought one for X-mas. Going to use it soon. Got a spot on the Dulles Greenway in N. VA - flat, 2 lanes, 65 MPH limit, no traffic in the AM. Let you know how it works.

Great! Be careful!

Also, compared to a dyno the old G-tech pro was quite off... At the drag strip I go to there is a car scale so you can get an exact weight of your vehicle with your car in it. I don't remember details, but the dyno results for my car at the time were not close to either the rear wheel dyno or the calculated flywheel based on the chassis dyno. For whatever it's worth...
