As it was fesh water and given the value of the vehicle it may well be a repair.

Also bear in mind he can't buy a new one as no more are being made.

We once paid to repair a damaged McLaren F1 that was crashed here in Sydney. Total cost $1,004,000 Aussie. We couldn't find a buyer for the salvage and they had stopped making new ones so we fly it back to McLaren and said "fix it and send the bill". Here's a link to the car http://www.wreckedexotics.com/mclaren/mclaren_20030226_002.shtml

I still have a font and rear wheel plus the tool kit that contains titanium spanners!

Most of the owners of these sorts of vehicles think that because they can afford to own it they're capable of driving it. WRONG!

Well, the "story" I read (can we ever trust what we read anymore?) said the engine ran for 15 minutes before dying :confused::mad:

Idiot drives it into the water and then does not turn if OFF!

This guy should be prohibited from owning/driving ANY car worth more than $5000.

Here is the bugatti-echtomy, warning: graphic video of a yahoo probably ruining a VERY expensive wheel with chains.

When they have too much money, they lose their common sense. :p

It's only money right? You can always make more of it... Well, maybe not always..

You would think driving a million dollar rare car one would be more alert and cautious when driving.. I guess this was not the case for this guy...

About the Bugatti - I thought to myself who would really want such an expensive car with so many moving parts that could potentially break down?

I thought for 2 million you get a car with 16 cylinders and 4 turbos to make 1000hp, many moving parts, it requires 9 radiators. Is this really an engineering marvel like so many claim or is it a potential headache?

As I further read into this car I discovered that infact this car is an engineering marvel because the parts that is made from can operate anywhere and anytime for a very very long time. Whether its 120* or -25* all those parts are made to handle it. With most powerful performance engines with big cams we have to change valve springs every 25,000 miles or so, etc.. etc.. This is not the case with the Bugatti motor and its parts, from the write ups it is claimed you can jump in this car a drive it and go anywhere in serious luxury, performance and style for a long time maintenance free. It is said this car is not a hard car to drive either. Not to mention the Bugatti passes emissions and noise ordiances everywhere.

If most of the write ups that I read are factually correct about this car it really is a modern engineering marvel..

I also had the chance to see one in and out first hand at the Los Angeles Auto Fair.. It really is a brilliant car to look at up close..
