I have seen people claim that the flywheels from 3 and 5VZ motors have been used on the 1UZ. Has anyone here tried to do this?

I have read the same thing, that a 5VZ flywheel can work on 1UZ, but have not had it confirmed. It would make like very easy for me. If anyone knows, please tell!

Hey Keith,

The 5F and 3S do work. However; I went with a modified 2J flywheel:

* Mill off the starter ring and sweat the UZ ring gear on
* Lengthen the diameter of the crank bolts.

You could use the UZ flexplate as a guide.

Do work with modifications. The 3S has the same ring gear however, the crank bolts are diff between the two therefore you need to weld them closed and redrill...
