I completely agree with everything you've said, striker - and in fact, the porsche in question wasn't running LPG, it was petrol 102RON, but i gave that (possibly flawed) example to demonstrate the higher power available with the higher knock resistance of the fuel.

Again, its not the calorific value which is important here, its the knock resistance...
