Hi All,
Having a problem with my LS400 engine I've fitted in a LJ70.
Before I removed the engine from the LS400 it drove fine with no problems.
The problem I had initially was with the engine 'looping' at idle (rev to 1200 then back down to 400, repeatedly), I overcame this by fitting a valve in the pipe between the air intake and the idle control valve. This has cured that problem, but now I'm driving about its stuttering and coughing under normal driving.
If I remove the AFM plug it struggles to idle but drives like a dream with no problems what so ever!
The engine is fitted to a Manual box.
The idle control valve doesn't seem to come apart like the others I've seen (The LS400 is a 93' model)
