Mmm okay, so I have recently put a 1UZFE + A431E into my BMW E36 Coupe.

It runs fantastically, however if I am going 0-45km/h and put it in Drive gear, and floor it to full throttle it sort of misses and hunts, repeats until it goes over 50km/h before powering ahead normally to the redline.

If I floor it when I'm doing 50km/h+ it kicks down a couple of gars and does what it should normally but below that speed.

Any ideas what the low speed full throttle miss could be?

I though it could be one of the 02 sensors or AFM....

Has it done this all the time since first start up
Could be afew things
Wiring
Leads
Air flow meter

Could also be fuel issue
Does it go from perfect to miss badly very quickly
Like is it an ignition type of miss or surging fuel miss
U havnt given us any good info to go by

Y was the tps out in the first place
All those screws and adjusters on the throttle body
Should never be touched unless u replace tps

Anyway good u sorted it

Turns out it was not the TPS.

But the ECU was going through the phases of failing.

Initially it was working okay then kept getting worse over a few days

I was well baffled - then I realised it wasn't the TPS, it was impossible for it to cause what was going on, so I had a look in the ECU and sure enough a few capacitors were bloated and leaking - interestingly 6 months ago I checked inside and they were okay, the sudden use of the ECU must have caused the failure.

I've fixed the ECU with new capacitors. It's fixed the surging issue I had.

However as expected the rotors, distributors and coil packs were absolutely knackered. The existing spark plugs and leads tested fine, so after replacing the other parts it's running well now, no more missing or spluttering.

Waiting on a replacement AFM at present, so I can get my fuel economy and proper performance back!
