4.0L VVTi swap into Lexus SC400?

Any problems associated with swapping in a 2000 4.0L V8 from a GS400 into a SC400?

Engine mounts are the same are they not?

Would it be an easy swap I can do in one weekend?

Any tutorials?

Here's some things to consider with this swap:

Different sumps - here's a thread showing the 3 different sumps: http://lextreme.com///forums/showthread.php?t=6497&highlight=sump

Different wiring harness connectors to the ECU

Perhaps totally different generation engines, depending on the year of your SC400. If it is earlier than 1998, get ready for a challenge, because it has a non-VVTi motor and your 2000 GS motor is definitely VVTi.

As John mentioned you would to GS400 ECU and throttle body cables. I am not sure about the transmission and ECU. The GS400 have 5 speed (I think)

Engine mounts are the same but like John stated you would need the orginal oil pick and pan

It does, even the GS3 from 96+ has the 5spd. My 99 has it.

the trannys are different on how they work internally
you cannot run the old tranny on new ecu it will go like **** and not change properly

but yr biggest prob is the vvti if its very late model has security in the ecu
so u need the ecu and matching key and transponder and associated **** under dash from same car

i think even david copperfield couldnt do it in 2 days hehe
