Alright, time to shoot the shot in a good forum for this. I have a 98 LS400 with a tired 300k mile 1UZ-FE VVTi, needs a full teardown and rebuild due to lack of maintenance. I've decided I want a great deal of power out of the car, already planning on upgrading the driveline to handle big power. I know the guys at Scottparts managed 750 hp on a thick rod engine, is this possible out of a built VVTi engine or should I swap to a pre-95 motor? What parts should I need to accomplish at least 700 hp out of a 1uz, and what is the best way to tune it?
 
Normal forged engine is quite straightforward then a suitable aftermarket ecu to tune it. VVti make much better power than the non vvti.
