I'm thinking of doing this, but there are a lot of things to consider before doing this.

The reason of doing this is I love the sound of a sporty V8 in a car and I want my car to be GT-spec style with a high revving Lexus V8. I know I can reach formidable BHP and torque with an sr20det from my nissan, but I want something different and I want a reliable 400RWHP-car.

There is enough room under the bonnet, only the intake will probably hit the bonnet, so there will probably be some custom work there (the bonnet or the intake).
Next thing is the gearbox. I don't know if someone else has ever connected a 1UZFE to an nissan s14A-gearbox, but I'm going to try.

First I'll have to reinforce the car a bit, so I won't start directly but I'll be checking this forum for all the info I need.

If someone already has advise or ideas, they're more than welcome.

Thanx in advance!

i think its been done, not on this forum though, i read it in a Zoom magazine,

post a pic of the car, i'm not that familiar with the models, the one i'm thinking used a TH400 3 speed auto i think, and many other mods.

I'd like to see this happen. The reason is that the Nismo SR20 sequential 6-speed box is fairly inexpensive... a bit over 3 grand. It'd be nice to be able to hook that to a 1uz!

Well I'm first going to see if I can do it with the stock tranny, sequential gearboxes are pretty expensive in the Netherlands.

I'm not sure how to post a picture, but this is a link of how my car looks (it's from a fellow sx-driver).
My car is exactly the same only lowered and a nice exhaustsystem from A'PEXi.

I've ordered front and rear strutbraces yesterday and I will order some ARB's next weekend to enforce the car a little bit and limit the body-roll.

Then next month I'll get a nismo adjustable suspensionkit and maybe a nismo subframe. That has to be enough to hold the car straight and make roadhandeling perfect for when the V8 is placed. If not further adjustments will be done.

By then I think my little moneywell is drained for now, so I'll be saving some money for a 335mm brakekit.

By then I'll have plenty more information about placing the V8 and the problems that will occur when doing the transplant.

With a bit of luck I might even have an engine.
BTW...what do you think of an LS400 1UZFE with 145.000 kilometers (around the 90.000miles I think) done?
I've seen 1 for reasonable price, but don't know about the little things to watch out for:feedback:

There is no problem getting enough space under the hood. As long as you get the engine low enough. Mabe making a new sump are needed.

Hey 200sx-V8 do you have any pics of your setup? I am doing the S13 but boosting it with a HX40, shooting for a reliable 500rwhp, shouldnt be a problem.

I'm not sure what you mean with sump.
But if it's engine-bottom for the oil, then I already thought about it, because it will definately be nescesary.

There's only another problem (not sure if you encountered it), the steering-device. The engine comes very near maybe even against it and that's not an option. So maybe I can decline the shape by removing a part of the external shell.

BTW in which 200sx did you place it, 200sx-v8?
s13, s14(A) or s15?

Oh yeah...and I'm not sure if I can get the hood fitted, so maybe a lump has to be made to make sure the stock intake fits or I'll have to find another intake with the throttlebody up front. That way I can also make a ram-air-intake. If anyone knows something about these throttlebodies or maybe an intake from another car that has it and will fit (with minor adjustment), please tell me.

I need all the info I can get.

I'm just started with my s13 conversion. Got the engine, and a r154 gearbox ready. Waiting for microtech ecu and bellhousing.

I have tried to get in touch with crs and dellow for the last 3 weeks. None of them have responded to my mails. Starting to get really tired of both companys. Better try to call them.

I'm almost done making a new oilpan with the sump in front. It will be made so that the engine can be mounted as low and and far back as possible. I'm planning on running a Turbonetics T60-1 turbo. My plan is to reach over 500 engine hp. And I hope to be ready with the conversion in a few months.

The 60-1 is pretty small for a 1UZFE. I am running a HX40 when i do my swap which is about as big as a T66 and thats still too small in my opinion. You should grab a Master Power T70. They can be had for $550 BRAND NEW plus shipping. They are not knock off **** either, they are made in Brazil at the same manufacturing plant as many garret turbos are, they are quality and are a cheap alternative to a turbonetics or garret. They are Killer cheap too! I might turn around and sell my used HX40 for $400-500 and buy a Master Power T70. I have a company i have been talking to from australia who makes adaptor plates and flywheels for the R154 and W series trannies. $700 for both and $80 for shipping. 2-3 weeks delivery. the website is: www.alloyrace.com/Index.html

They will email you back usually, took them a while but they did after like a week or two. I want to hear how yours turns out. I am starting the last 2 years of college next semester and will be slammed, probably not doing this swap for a while is what i am realizing, i hope you accomplish some **** so i have less to figure out. Was your motor not a front sump to begin with? Mine is????? I hear some are rear sump, some are front sump???

N-jinn: Have a look in this post. http://www.lextreme.com/forums/showthread.php?p=37417#post37417 I have done a little bit after these pics was taken, but have to get the engine in the car before I finish.

The main reason why I am making this pan, is because the engine had a rear sump fitted and I need the front one. The other reason is that I want to get the engine low and far back. Now I can also make a pan with a larger oil capasity.

Btw, I phoned Dellow today, and they said that they still was having their christmas holliday. Therefore I had not gotten any response to me e-mails. Everyone should be back on Monday.

As I posted in your topic, I'm very impressed.

How was your experience with using a stock front-sump (I know you had a rear, but maybe you tried with a front) or did you not have the opportunity to try it out and went straight for a custom sump?

I have seen other Nissan's with 1uzfe and the front sump. It's will fit if you remove the swaybar, but then the engine will be sitting a little bit further forward.

I also want it as low and far back as the gearbox allows.
But I will definately keep the swaybar, actually I'm going to order even better ones to fit under the car.

So I'll need to make a custom sump.

But I'll first have to test fit a couple of times so I will have time enough to get it sorted.
What kind of exhaustmanifolds are you going to use?

A bit further now.

Got the strutbars fitted and the car is a bit more direct feel while steering.

I'm planning to get some swaybars soon (I'm still doubting if I'll get a front one, considering the frontsump).
I already discussed the EMS with a guy who knows about the best and it's going to be a MoTeC M4 with custom wiring.
A bit of a job but when it's done I will know where all the effort went.

Using the MoTeC I'm also using a laptop for mapping so this will also be something I'll be saving money for.

With some luck I'll have the engine in the summer.

I have measured the distance between the swaybar and the x-member on my car. It is 28,5cm in the middle and 32,5cm on the sides.
