DIY Turbo Hoses
Silicon Turbo hoses are
expensive. For example, a 3" x 3" turbo hose would run about
$11.00-$14.00 and if you need 6-7 pieces the price can really adds
up. I learned this technique from Joey. He is the
owner of this highly specialized motorsports shop.
Even though the silicon hoses are expensive, there are ways we can
still get high quality hoses at affordable prices. For
example, I went to a local hose and fitting supplies shop and got
2 feet silicon high temperature hose. The shop sells it at
19.00 per foot. At 19 dollars per foot. I can make six
two inches or four three inches hoses. Here is the price
* 2" length hose is about $3.17 each
* 3" length hose is about $4.75 each.
However, if you to ebay and
I have found you can get 4 feet silicone turbo hose for $35.
That is a great deal. Here is the breakdown for the ebay

can save lots of money if you are on a go fast budget. This
is the technique you should apply when you receive your hoses from
your bid. Here is the step by step instruction.
You will need the following tools.
* A Measuring Tape
* A T-Bolt Clamp
* 7/16" Socket
* A Sharp razor blade (use a new blade)
Step 2: Slide the T-Bolt clamp into the hose and make sure all the
whole clamp is evenly distributed.
Step 3: Slide the T-Bolt clamp to the desire length. I
personally prefer 2.5" to 3". Once again, make sure the
T-Bolt is even in both sides.
Step 4: After you selected the desire length, now you can use your
7/16" socket to tighten the T-Bolt clamp for stability.
Step 5: Now you can insert the new razor blade right next to the
clamp. The clamp will acts as a guide to your blade.
Make sure you slide the hose and put some pressure toward the
clamp. Just like you would draw a line by using a ruler.
Make sure you use two hands. One hand on the hose and other
hand holding the handle. BE CAREFUL do not cut your finger.
Step 6: Notice the below picture is almost fully slide or cut.
The cut is very clean. The key is to use a brand new sharp
Step 7: The hose is cut and you can see the two pieces are
clean and look professionally cut.
Step 8: This piece is the original with T-Bolt clamp.
Step 9: You can see the clean cut without any curves.
Remember a sharp blade will do the job.
Step 10: This is how it look like during the cut. Try to
extend the blade so you would have room to slide the blade.
Step 11: Finally all done and save lots of money.
Beside money saving diy, but this process will have the
professional look that will cost about 4-5 time as much.
