Why do we have 3 temp sensors?

In the water passage in from front of the motor between banks?

Single wire is for the temp gauge, green plug is EFI temp sender - wire to temp 1 on link and brown plug is for the cold start injector - take it out and replace with aftermarket gauge sensor if running one - or blank it if you are using linkdash. Cheers
